We start off with a secure location for your server room; (preferably with a lock and a key or card access and or video monerting) you also need to limited access to your server room to authorized personal. Secondly, secure access to you server limited to your network administrator only. This will minimize your potential for a security breach or server modifications or the ability to have your hardware stolen, damaged, or vandalized.

Creating a strong password is important; following best practices for long password combinations is always a good idea.
